Victoria Park Golf Club is one of Brisbane’s premiere function venues for glamorous weddings of any size.

I’ve always LOVED photographing weddings here!

There are 5 amazing function rooms to choose from – all boasting stunning city views. Plus, every room has its own private bar and outdoor terrace.

My favourite part is that we can do post-ceremony photos around the grounds then simply walk to your reception.

If you also have your ceremony in one of the Victoria Park Golf Club function rooms, we can stay at the one location right through from ceremony to reception. There’s no need to waste time travelling between locations, or stress about getting all of your guests from one location to another.

Your guests will love it here too. With plenty of parking and things to do, such as putt putt, a kids playground and bar areas to relax.

Nearby photo locations

There are plenty of amazing photo locations within the Victoria Park Golf Club grounds. With the city views as a backdrop, there’s a great variety of spots such as the arched putt putt bridge or underneath the beautiful big gumtrees. However there are some iconic Brisbane wedding photo locations close by if you prefer to take a quick drive.

Almost in walking distance, just down Herston Road is the UQ Medical School Meyers Lecture Theatre. A classical heritage building with a great frontage to photograph amongst its impressive rowed columns.

Further down towards the Brisbane River, you can stop along the top of Bowen Terrace. This is an impressive angle of the Story Bridge with the Brisbane City skyline in the background.

The Kangaroo Point Cliffs also offer an incredible view of the Brisbane City.

Other Brisbane photo locations

If you have a bit of extra time available, I often recommend visiting New Farm Park. It has some amazing city views and beautiful gardens, plus the Brisbane Powerhouse is right next door offering refurbished, industrial style backdrops.

While in the vicinity of New Farm, you simply have to stop by Abbott Street for a few bridal photos. It’s a quiet suburban street lined by beautiful, old, Camphor Laurel trees. (It’s referred to as “the wedding street”).

The Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) also provides good variety for photos with its geometric architecture and backdrop of city buildings towering above. A short walk along either the Kurilpa Bridge or the William Jolly Bridge can make for some epic images. However, I would be cautious to travel here from the other side of the city. Traffic around South Brisbane / Southbank areas can be troublesome. Allow some extra travel time to your schedule if you must.

Bonus photo locations

If you’re planning an August wedding, it might be a week where you’re able to head down to the Brisbane Showgrounds and get amongst Sideshow Alley at the Ekka. This can make for some great alternative wedding photos, but it’s not for the faint hearted!

Nearby ceremony venues

St John’s Cathedral, The Cathedral of St Stephen, The Brisbane Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages, Albert Street Uniting Church, Roma Street Parklands and Saint Mary’s Anglican Church are all close to the Victoria Park Golf Club.
